We’ve really enjoyed our 5 days here in Winnipeg. Being about 271 years old, there is a ton of history and Parks Canada and the province have done a great job of preserving or restoring different places. There always seems to be some interesting thing as you drive along. Here's a sculpture on a bridge with the usual sheaf's of wheat. This retirement is truly delightful. I've always loved history and to be in these places and have the time to toddle along and see all this different stuff is great.
My mom was born here and we’ve always heard about Winnipeg; nice to finally see it and the Red River which had that ice jam and terrible flood. We had thought that Hwy 75 coming from the US border up to Winnipeg was the worst road but have heard on the news that it was underwater 7 weeks during that flood so maybe that explains it. Today was the usual household stuff. Wash, vacuum, haircuts, check the banking. I even washed the car while I waited for the laundry. We went to the show this afternoon. I really enjoyed Julie and Julia and Ron saw The Ugly Truth and enjoyed that.

Hi Mom and Ron!
I am on an airplane at the moment coming home from Atlanta and they have free wireless so I am reading your blog! Being stuck on airplane for 5 hours is what I needed to find time to read your blog - ha ha.
Talk to you soon!

Suzanne
