On to Medicine Hat

We fuelled at the flying J on Deerfoot Trail, $7.12 off for cash, 73.9/gallon. We also tested and topped up the tires. Now I know why the tire gauge has a front and back - for the inside and outside valves. We've never seen so much construction as there is around Calgary which we left behind. It's going to be fabulous when it's all finished. We're driving past very flat land heading East on Hwy 1. The yellow fields are canola or mustard seed. Sometimes there's some pipes with a spigot in the middle of a field or 3-5 gas shacks in a row. We passed Brooks which has the Aqueduct that was built by the CPR in 1914 to irrigate the valley. There are 260,000 acres of irrigated land and 1,000,000 of rangeland for grazing cattle. We're seeing little oil derricks. We reached Medicine Hat by 3 and parked in the far back lot at the Husky. Beautiful hot weather.
