Today we were downtown to pick up the INR machine. This is a monitor that reads your Prothrombin time in your blood while you are on blood thinning mediation. Due to the congenital bicuspid aortic valve, Ron will need to be on this until he has it replaced, or for life.
I popped into Laurier House, built in 1852 where Wilfred Laurier and his wife lived while he was Prime Minister. It's a beautiful house with very large rooms, 15' ceilings and restored to original furnishings. When he died he bequeathed it to William Lyon MacKenzie King when he was Prime Minister. He moved the staircase and installed an elevator because of Teddy Roosevelt and held seances in a secret room up on the 3rd floor. He kept his crystal ball on his desk and is said to have communed with his dead mother. I loved the veranda on 2 sides.
I also popped into the Museum of Nature. It has 5 floors with Fossil, Mammal, Bird Galleries and a Special Display floor. This was winners of a photography contest and I enjoyed that best, one of a squirrel and another of prairie dogs at a grave, looking respectful.
