We drove down to Salton City on the Salton Sea. You could see the higher water level on the cliffs from many years ago.
We drove west to the Borrego Anza park to see the wildflower bloom. I was completely surprised by the canyons we saw after leaving the fertile valley farming area.
After the rains we had this winter, more than in many years, the desert is having a magnificent floral bloom.
There are blues and reds
There is a lovely info center and many trails plus rangers and a documentary film and exhibits in the Center.
The cacti are in bloom, even some different ones.
Pity they often only last a few hours but so worth waiting for. Lovely day.
I just love Willy's laugh, when he's telling a story, he is laughing all the time and just makes you feel happy.
Beautiful place.
