Good trip Home.

We left Tuesday, lunched at Kramer's Junction then overnighted on the street in front of the RV Park at Lost Hills. We stayed at Rolling Hills Wed, Eugene RV Thur. We stopped in Wilsonville but ended up going through Seattle Friday during rush hour, 2 hours for the city.  Tulalip was welcomed for prime rib and a free overnight. Good trip, some rainy spots but have never seen more green vegetation and snow on  Mt. Shasta was right down to the ground and the Lake was the  highest we've seen in 10 years.

John and his Beer Dispenser.

We really enjoyed  a fun time with our friends from home and Mesa.
Car pooling with 6 was a bit cramped.

John setting up for the first time. Ice in the
middle tube keeps the beer good and cold.

They're at Sand's RV  for a week.

Enjoying.

Julien, CA

We decided to come home the back route, so headed through the mountains and stopped in Julien, an old mining town.
Julian is a small mountain community in Southern California located at the intersection of California highways 78 and 79, about 50 miles northeast of San Diego. This historic gold-mining town is nestled among oak and pine forests between the north end of the Cuyamaca Range and the south slope of Volcan Mountain.
The entire township of Julian is a Designated Historical District. Its image as an early California frontier town with pioneer store fronts, historic sites and guided tours of Eagle and High Peak Mines accounts for much of its modern appeal. Tourism is Julian's largest industry, followed by cattle raising.
Julian is also unique among Southern California communities for its cold-winter climate, ideal for growing apples. All Julian apples are sold locally as apple pies, apple cider or whole fruit. In October, 10,000 apple pies a week are baked in Julian, when Southern California tourists flock here for the fall colors, cool breezes, frontier atmosphere and its famous Apple Festival.
We had lunch at a restaurant on the main street from the 1800's, an original hotel/store and many others businesses in the past.
The apple pie was enormous and delicious.
These are some of the old enamel cups and bread box.
Being with Willy, we had to experience the local Legion of course.

Borrego Anza National Park with Willy and Jo

We drove down to Salton City on the Salton Sea. You could see the higher water level on the cliffs from many years ago.
We drove west to the Borrego Anza park to see the wildflower bloom. I was completely surprised by the canyons we saw after leaving the fertile valley farming area.
After the rains we had this winter, more than in  many years, the desert is having a magnificent floral bloom.
There are blues and reds
There is a lovely info center and many trails plus rangers and a documentary film and exhibits in the Center.
The cacti are in bloom, even some different ones.
Pity they often only last a few hours but so worth waiting for. Lovely day.
I just love Willy's laugh, when he's telling a story, he is laughing all the time and just makes you feel happy.

Beautiful place.

Up the Mountain with Vicki.

We've had a wonderful time with Vicki coming for an overnight. She had her car maintenance done and scored 7 amazing items at AngelView while she waited. We visited with an old friend and it was super.
We visited others friends, swam in our warm pool twice even under the stars and had a great visit.
Had hiked up our 'mountain' today and as always just love the view.
The spring flowers cover the fields and go all the way up the mountains. The best in 10 years.

CABOT YERXA'S HOPI INSPIRED HOMESTEAD MUSEUM

Today we went to this amazing National Historic Sight right in Desert Hot Springs.

VISIT CABOT YERXA'S HOPI INSPIRED HOMESTEAD MUSEUM
Nestled in the scenic hills of Desert Hot Springs, a Hopi-inspired pueblo sits against a hillside. Not just any pueblo, but one built with re-purposed materials he collected throughout the desert. Cabot’s pueblo spreads an impressive 5,000 square feet, divided into 35 rooms and adorned with 150 windows and 65 doors. What a sight it is to see!
Through the tour, you will have the chance to get to know the man behind the pueblo: a bright and ambitious man, who followed his heart, traveled the world and accomplished countless things.
In a modern world where everything we need is at our fingertips with a touch of a button, a flick of a switch or the sound of a voice, it’s hard to imagine having to walk 14 miles for water.
It's a must see if you get here.
All 150 windows are different, as are the 65 doors and many rooms. Cabot wouldn't cut wood so he made a 7' room if that's what he had. This door is made from an old abandoned wagon found in the desert.

Incredible place even having 2 openings in the wall's seen here,to direct wind acting as central air conditioning back in the 1930's.

Desert Crest Patio Sales and Yuma fun.

I drove Don's golf cart, (special permission) with Lila and Teresa, for our usual spring fling and amazing bargains at the park wide spring sales.
I always hope I don't find anything because I don't want extra weight in my smaller space. I scored with a $1 purse, $2 coral necklace and $5 brand new turquoise watch. Bonus!
Here's Ron in Yuma where we went shopping to escape a rainy day and lucked into the Planters PeanutMobile with free samples.
We had a complementary week in Vista de Oro, a new CalAm park and faced due west with beautiful sunsets and skies.
