I rode my bike down to the Peace Arch last night at 9 pm. It was a bit
dark for the lovely flowers forming the American flag.
There were fewer people waiting for the fireworks for July 4th, due to the threatening rain.
Our flag had more
light.
My grandfather and dad from Brown Bros. Florist on Granville St.
in Vancouver and Brown Bros. Greenhouses in Haney, created some of the
original gardens back in the early 1900's.
The rain started and I was getting soaked so after I'd
visited with neighbours huddled under trees, I skipped the fireworks as we'd seen ours July
1. I biked back to my dry home and saw displays of New York and L. A.
on the news. Some totally amazing.
Remember this was 9:30 pm. I'll have to go back and take some pictures in sunshine. It's a beautiful park and gardens.
