Dinner with Linda and Jerry at Celine and Larrys

We visited Celine and Larry to see Linda and Jerry. It was lovely to be together.
Her garden is amazing and we had burgers then  Ron and Larry played crib. We might see them this winter in Yuma.

Annual Girls Weekend

Celine and I went down Thurs to do the shopping and get organized. We took the ferry across to Lummi Island.

We loved sitting in the quiet on the porch watching the birds and chipmunks. We saw Stellar's Jays, Western Tanager (yellow with red) chickadees, western Flinckers and here's the Rufous Towhee.
When we got all our prep done Friday morning we drove around the island and saw the salmon fishing at the beach behind this charming fishing shack. Next was the lavender farm. Gorgeous.

Our turkey dinner (thanks Celine) was as delicious as always.
Then we admired all the 60's costumes.

Dane and Joanne's Going Away Party

We joined several families on the ferry taking the girls to Camp Firkus for the week and I traveled home.
We threw a going away party for 2 different parties leaving our RV life and going into apartments in the middle of town. We'll miss them.
We had to move up to the tent because of the threat of rain. We augmented our usual ABC party ( appies, beverage and chairs) with a large pot of jambalaya. Nummy.
We finished up at the firepit with great music by Claude and friends.

Fun with Family

Monthly visit to Suzanne's family. We attended a business women's mingle at Ty's Fine Foods with many inspiring women.
Our moderator Lea, had everyone write one grateful thought on a blackboard.
Very thought provoking.
Lexi got her first pair of glasses and can now see distances.
Birthday party for 7 year old boys with soccer in a rainy drizzle, then crawling under strings WITHOUT touching.
Sat. 4 -6pm was  Messy Church at St. Bart's.
The kids made disciples, then painted fish.
There was a little singsong and spaghetti dinner. Fun with the cousins and 2 grandmas
.

Fun in the Campground

We're having a wonderful summer. Charlie's friend went to China and brought back 4 Segways, 2 electric bikes and a unicycle so every one is trying them out.
Charlie rigged a rope tied to the roof of the tent while he learns to ride around in circles hanging on. Beleive me, there's been a few bruises around  here.
Ron's over visiting Peter.
Here's where all the advice comes from when someone is moving.

Drizzly Sunday

We went down to the beach on a warm but slightly drizzly morning  for Sunday breakfast at the Hemingway. Used to be the Ocean Beach Hotel from way back when the kids snuck in there for beer with their fake ID. And they thought they were clever. Once Ron and I went for beer on a Saturday night and saw them all. Oops, OM Goodness there's mom and Ron.
It's all spiffed up now and looking quite good. It was warm and nice walking along the Promenade although Ocean Park was faded out.
Vendors were in short supply but the Pier is celebrating it's 100th birthday.
The old train station is now refurbished as a Museum and gift shop.
We used to go down to Seattle as teenagers on the train for school shopping along the ocean front , a beautiful trip.

Happy Canada Day

 How perfect is this?
I loved touring around Ottawa during the week Ron was in hospital there in 2009.

We celebrated Canada's 147 birthday with a party here at the park.
We decked out in red and white for bocci, visiting and hotdogs.
