Canada Day

We took steak and dinner to the Doyles yesterday. Poor Julie is on the couch for another 3 weeks while her broken ankle heals. When Josh got home from work, he gave me a hug and kissed me on TOP of my head. We had a great time and then watched Isaiah practice his bike riding with his dad.
For Canada, on our 140th birthday, we had a big party at our park. There was bocci and horseshoes and lots of fun.

Lunch at Masts

We visited Ron and Penny for lunch today. Their granddaughter Lila was there so it was fun to see her, very busy little gal. While she slept, Penny and I prepped stuff for their garage sale next Saturday. They've been in their 3 story house for 40 years and have just sold. When we came up from the basement, we found that the 2 Rons had found the wine.

Pretty Harbour and Town

I really enjoy Gibsons. Suzanne and I went for a walk down the wharf before she took me to the ferry. Lovely sunshine, beautiful gardens on the houseboats and a heron standing on a mast.

Father's Day

Saturday Hana took part in a Flash Mob that just 'happened' at 1:30 at the local mall. Their music teacher organized it and it was fun to see. Today we did our gardening, visited Irene and George, trained the clematis over the fence next door, did some mending and celebrated Father's Day with Chinese food down on the waterfront. Ron got a Starbucks Coffee Card.

Birthday Party for Ann and Suzanne

We celebrated at a fondue party at Shannon and Adams. We both received lovely gifts, unexpected and started in the dining room with 2 cheese fondues, 2 breads and veggies.
There was also a chocolate fountain with shortbread cookies, marshmallows, strawberries and pineapple. I think I had 10 pieces of that - most delicious. The kitchen had the meats and shrimp and it was fun to cook and visit. We spent the evening out on the patio with a fire keeping us warm and cheery. thank you Shannon and Adam for a wonderful time.

A Coffee Tasting at Starbucks

We were Shannon's guests today for a coffee tasting. You smell the aroma of the brew, then should slurp it over your tongue to touch the most taste buds. The Pike's Place roast from South Africa went best with a sweet and cinnamon so we sampled a cinnamon roll with it. The Varona from Indonesia was best with chocolate and caramel so that is what it was paired with. Very delicious, well presented and Shannon is very knowledgeable. This was fun and then they gave me a pedicure so off I went to be pampered.
A deer was walking in the back yard today. Jody joined us for a hot tub and we covered about 20 different topics of conversation.
