A Desert Walk with Ida

Can you believe it? - it's taken us this long to finally get a walk together. We hiked up the hills behind the RV park which we are overlooking here right and over to San Gegorio Mountains. Someone has placed a cross up here. In another spot someone has replaced the old stuffed armchair that used to be here, with a painted cedar ding chair that should be at the head of the dining room.

Had a lovely hike and fun with Ida.

Old Crescent Beach Friends

We met down at the Souplantation for lunch today with 2 couples from the 60's when we all lived down at the beach. No phones, no street lights but tons of fun together with Don teaching us how to make spaghetti, playing cards with our private stashes of pennies and scaring ourselves silly with the Quigy Board.  

Going to miss the Desert and the Flowers

We have just had the greatest winter - but then, don't I say that every year? The flowers are coming out now and the cacti are blooming. They are so unique. This one on the right is like a yucca bottom and this 14' spear is it's flower.

 These little barrel cacti are all over. this one has 7 more blooms ready to pop out.

This is a dead looking red aloe type until these pretty flowers pop up.
This one below is  down by the lower swimming pool and corner store.

Hidden Springs Mobile Home Park

I drove past Mom and Dad's old place today and the new owner was standing in the driveway. When I said my mom and dad used to own it, he invited me in. Someone added an office on 1/2 of the front porch and nuw there is a wheelchair ramp going up the front. It doesn't even resemble the wonderful porch overlooking the 7th green where Ron watched dad make a hole in one on his 80th birthday. The little olive tree in now about 30' tall and the pines down the side are huge.

Mom always loved watching the shifting shadows on the hills.

When we went to the Palm Springs Follies, this fellow performed.
Check it out, you will be amazed. He uses up to 10 hula hoops at the same time.

The follies was an amazing 3 hour show.

A Visit to Hemet

Doreen and John are down at Thousand Trails in Indio. They picked us up and we drove down to Hemet to see our friends from home.

Guess who got into the crib games.

We sat around the pool and prayed to the cloud gods, to move them over and let the sun shine in.
We went back to the trailer and enjoy pizza and loved our time together.

Happy Hour

I was the only woman at pool today but we had the guys and their wives over for a visit afterwards.

We really enjoyed our get together.
