Volunteer Work

Today we went to Suzanne's church St. Batholomew's and worked at their weekly food bank. They routinely serve about 85 people. The clients choose some specific items plus receive a carton of goods you can see behind the volunteers on the stage. The sign going out the door says, Hast Thou: Closed and locked all the doors?, Turned out all the lights, Turned down the heat? Set the alarm? Then go in Peace. The one out front says: " Prayer - the ultimate wireless connection." The first pink cherry blossoms were peaking out under the Cross.
Next stop was the kids school where we cleaned up the schoolyard as a volunteer activity organized by their Chiropractors for Love Week of community service.

Off to Gibsons

I met Suzanne in White Rock today for Bill Cain's funeral. Cathy was so glad to have her childhood friend there for her. We stopped in Yaletown, had a coffee in a bistro with beautiful photos on the walls, enjoyed the view of N Vancouver on the way to the ferry and 'sailed' into the sunset.

Happy Birthday, Zach

We joined the family for a delicious dinner at the 'Greek Islands' last night. Their food is delicious, very generous portions and we had a great time. The teens split before I could get a group picture.

Jame's New App

James got approval from Apple on Sat. and Google on Sun for a new App he'd submitted to them for approval and his new App, 'the app that gives back', is now up and running. It is a fundraising effort for the Gibson's Volunteer Firefighter's of which he is a volunteer. Local businesses pay a monthly fee for 24/7 exposure on the site for mobile phones and 50% goes to the Fire Dept for equipment and necessary items. The App is downloaded for free and the businesses will attract new business with local promotions. Everybody wins. Congratulations James!!! We even found a tiny bottle of champagne from New Years.
