The Elephant Bar

We met Joan and Barry down at the Elephant Bar and enjoyed their superb food. My lamb shank was $7.95 for a full meal, then a 20% seniors discount. Doesn't get much better than that.

Lois' Windy Birthday

It's been 85 - 90 this week
( 30C) and we've been lounging in the pool or hunting out some shade. Now the wind has been blowing for 2 days and the temp came down 25 degrees. It was Lois birthday today, Havoc sang to her and we are all huddled in blankets to stay warm.

First Goodbyes

We had Joan and Barry and Vicki and Pete over for corned beef and cabbage Monday. Neither of them had cooked it and weren't sure, but yes, they liked it. The group all got together Thur as 1 couple is out tomorrow and 2 have arrived back. We are in Membership Parks where it's $5 - $9 per day. You stay in 2 weeks and then go out for a week so it's always changing. Four couples will start home Monday. We've had a great winter thanks to all these friends.

Company from Hemet

Glen and Leah came over today. As usual, the guys played a lot of crib while we girls amused ourselves. We went up to the Clubhouse for the Sirloin Hamburgers with tickets we've won for bocci, pool and crib.

Time for Fashion

Catalina had another fashion show of bathing suits and beach wear. It fun scrambling to keep up the pace, changing in the back room, making sure labels were tucked in, etc. Glossy is the store in DHSprings where these great suits priced at $69.95 and up, are sold for $34.99. There handpainted sign is out on Dillon road and we've been driving past it for years. After, Lila and Don and gang came for happy hour, the first time we've been together for 2 months.

Cardena - a new store

I went shopping today, as we haven't really shopped since Feb. 8. One of the stores was a new one, Cardenas, Mexican, which has the freshest produce and was absolutely delightful. It's cleaner than any store I've been in and decorated like a small Mexican village, balconies with wrought iron railings surrounding the upper level and fairly loud music throughout. I bought 7 items, including an English cucumbers, (had paid $1.99 for 1last week) 2 avocados, head of cabbage, plus 4 more and the bill was $4.67. Couldn't believe it - will definitely be shopping there for my produce weekly.

New Bloggers

We are just loving being back here in the desert-bocci, swimming and sunshine and 75 degrees. I helped Shirley and Paulette learn how to blog today and they caught on very quickly. We all think it's easier than Facebook and a nice way for family, grandkids and friends to stay in touch with us.
