Girl's Night Out at Noreens

Carrie and husband are here for a few days as the boys will be playing music for tomorrows entertainment and the girls had a get together.

                So nice.

Friends for 24 years

Our friends we helped move to Kamloops  many years ago are in town.

 Ron and Chuck worked as Boilermakers together until they retired and Virginia (and Irv) is his niece.

 We met CJ and Joan in the poolhall at the Eagles Club in Blaine, WA 24 year ago and are still playing pool every Friday night.
Many good time have been shared.

Family Visit.

Off for my monthly journey to Gibsons.  Suzanne and I decided on a morning walk but quit halfway due to rain as we couldn't really see the ocean.

                      We celebrated both of our birthdays with pedicures and an appy at the new Bistro on the beach.

  We celebrated S birthday Sat night.

More beach time for skim boarding at the beach with the Mandela.

Kite Sailing at the Beach

I just love where we live. While I was walking today, I watched this fellow's adventure. Many items can be rented up at the rent shack.

Then it must be carried down to the water, where we're looking across to Birch Bay.

This kite was about 35' ? wide and quite unwieldy in the wind.

After a  few attempts, he was sailing, right down to the far end of the beach.

 It's coming down and he'll sail again.

My Birthday

We'd invited friends for an ABC party ( please bring appy, beverage and chair) on our patio. Well, we woke to rain and it stayed all day. Since I was born on Father's Day and it's probably rude to throw yourself a party, I decided to celebrate all the fathers as well. This was the only choice for the cake to I laughingly told Malcolm it was dedicated to he, Rene and Lloyd as they are the only fishermen I know.
 

                     We were a bit squished but lots of laughs as usual.

Lots of people assumed the rain had cancelled the outdoor party but the show did go on and it was fun to enjoy company in the rain.

Birthday Party at the Legion

We had great fun celebrating 6 birthdays for June at Friday night Pool.

 By the time I grabbed my camera, all the sprinklers had burnt out, looked much less impressive with steel sticks in the cake.

Blessed with Grandchildren

We went to Isaiah's Band Concert Wed night. We were very impressed with all the kids.

Isaiah played one of the 4 solos in the concert and is very good. These kids just start playing in Grade 6.

Here's one of the awards he won for Excellence, Concert and Jazz Band. They showed a slide show of their band trip to Cuba and it showed the wonderful time they had.
It is so much fun this of year with the year end performances of all the kids activities.

A Walk at the Glades

Popped into the Glades Garden today to see how it looked without all the rhododendrons in bloom. Very different but still nice.

I met my friend that I met outside the lab at 7 am in April waiting for the lab to open.

There are hidden spots everywhere, with little surprises like this area where I just imagine sitting there with tea in china cups.

 It was fun walking around and we met the owners who began the restoration in 1994 when they bought the property but they deeded it to the city in 2002 and now they direct the city garden crew on the care.

The waterlilies are in bloom and I love this little private waterfall. You have to hunt to find it.

New Surrey Swimming Pool

A new facility at 24th and 168 St, right in our neighbourhood.

The place was hopping on Sat. with a free opening day and the lazy river getting a real workout.

Lots of events and fun for families.

Visit with Friends

Sunshine called for a get together to catch up with friends.

Some travel with us in the winter and some stay at home.

                                Great group of friends.
