Girl's Weekend on Lumi Island

I headed down with Celine Thur and shopped for the 17 of us. After our 10 minute ferry ride, we started getting ready for the weekend.

The blue jays arrived as soon as we filled the bird feeders and the chipmunk kept sneaking into the feeder behind the sink.

Complete fire ban but then it rained overnight.

One of my favourite thing is our trip to the lavender farm.

Monthly Jaunt

Over to the Sunshine Coast for my monthly visit.

Here a big concrete truck was being delivered to a  small dock.
The girls went to Camp Firkin for a week. Lots of outdoor skills and fun.

Suzanne and I enjoyed Martguerita pizza out on the patio. Lots of fresh basil with fire roasted small tomatoes.

Lunch wth Classmate RNs.

We met in Ladner for a lovely lunch and visit dockside.

We graduated from St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver 53 years ago.

A Walk along East Beach

Ron dropped Jan and I at East Beach and we walked toward Ocean Park and the pier. A train went by with several of Jan's firm Catalyst's cars in a row.

These 2 gals were raising money to go to Scotland.

 We had to go see the White Rock thrown across the sea from Vancouver Island by a young Indian man to prove his love for a local maiden and impress her father a long time ago.

When we met Ron, the sun was out and he suggested dry ribs and beer at Charlie Dont Surf. How could we refuse? I love outdoor dining beside the ocean wth the smell of the sea.

Beach Party with the Baxters

We had the best time together with all 4 kids, Peter, Ann, Rosemary and Margaret and all our kids attending and grandkids. We spent the day at Spanish Banks East, right beside the Spanish Banks Cafe.

                           All the cousins loved seeing each other.

Greetings were so special after 3 years and many hugs were shared..

Brad arrived from New Westminster by bike, beating Margaret in the car.

                                        We had 42 of our wonderful famiy together. 

Neighbourhhood Parties

We had a delicious Sunday  Brunch at Debralee and Lloyd's.

Next was a surprise birthday party for Karen.

We have great friends and neighbours.

Happy Canada Day

We had a wonderful celebration here at our park for this 149th birthday. A pig was roasting throughout the day.

                              Bocci ball is always popular.

                                        And the winners were Debralee and Claude.
