White Rock Farmer's Market

This Sunday market is located beside the Whaling Wall in the town center.
We wandered around, meeting old friends on the way, plus all the usual Vendors and a musician.
I always love the art and photography displayed while we listens to the music at the bandstand.

Tugboat Annie's

We met our dear friends Thadene and Dave at a pub right on the Fraser River.
They've know each other since grade school in Kitimat.
We had a great visit as usual and watched the boats and water flowing by.

                                     Had a great night.
And more fun was had by all.

More Beach Time

We went down to the beach after dinner, Boonybrook this time.
James is sure enjoying his new truck.
A family was enjoying the beauty and the 2 girls were kayaking with a seal popping up in the bachground.
Chris were working here and the company billeted 3 of them in this waterfront house instead of camp. He didn't want to leave.

Crab Feast at Secret Beach

Four families met below Steve and Vanessa's house for a crab feast.
The kids were off in the distance playing on a buoy tied to a tree when James and Steve headed out to collect the crab traps.
                        Success.
             Tara was being very brave.
Had a great feast from crab to steak at the fire-pit.

Family Party

Every month when I visit, they throw a party for me so I get to see everyone.
And we love the back yard.
Lot of fun.
The kids got to watch TV later.
                                            Mother and daughter.

Celebration Gardens

While the kids were doing their gymnastics, I strolled through these beautiful gardens. This is a small pond.
They were called Celebration Gardens and it looks like one could have had weddings here.

                                  My favorite flower, iris.
These magnolia blossoms were spectacular and the wisteria very plentiful.

Surrey Memorial Hospital

I had 2 hours to pass when I was waiting for Ron and explored the new tower here. It's a huge 'campus' now. You need a map as even the staff don't know how to get everywhere yet.

There is a lovely Ronald McDonald room with complete kitchen, quiet area, kids corner and touching thank you notes.
There are murals and art everywhere.
A connecting corridor is now a rest area with view.
I even had a tour of the new Emergency room, more like Center. Totally amazing, not like the one I worked in at Peace Arch back in the 70's.

The entrance, inside and out, uses reclaimed wood.
This blue sculpture, representing waves?  was commissioned to an artist from Mexico. Hello ??  Don't we have any local artists!!!!!
These beams are representing B.C. trees and forests.
