Two Springs Brunch

We went over to Two Springs with Fay and Dan and met Pat and Donna and Dick and Nadine for their delicious Saturday  breakfast.
They have everything imaginable, even making omelets to order.
Every kind of fruit was ripened just right. Mini pastries too.
Finally have a little wind so good day to be inside as the windmills whirl around..

Up the Mountain Again

Ida, Phyllis and I hiked today. Can't really call this 300' hill a mountain but everyone does. We went further to the SW, up to an area with a pile of rocks where we had seen someone sitting one day and viewed over to Idyllwild, a small village filled with artists up on the San Jacinta Mt.area.
We passed this 'wash' and marvel at the rainfall that poured down to cause the water to roar through here, cutting away the sand 10' deep.
Next week when we're in Desert Pools, we're going to head along the 'dyke' road, the straight line in the background, to the mountains heading north. Campgrounds ahead of us along Langlois Rd..

Love Catalina Spa RV

We're back in Cat Spa for another 2 weeks.
Ron's at bocci every Mon and Thur with all the gang.
The cabins are on the left, pond on the right with 3 turtles and a few fish, plus Mt. Jacinta in the background.
Dan and Ron are both throwing, trying to win the hamburger or ice cream.

The water aerobics folks are working daily and now stretching, Fay attends faithfully.

We are enjoying the best weather, 80's.

Happy Valentine's Day

Received these lovely flowers from Vicki and enjoyed them for 10 days.
Some decorations in the Park.
Joni and I went shopping and our biggest find was this street legal mini BMW scooter which didn't even require a license.

Party for Vicki

We had a group over because Vicki came up from Yuma and it was so much fun being together.
We gathered in the lower clubhouse because high winds were forecast but nothing happened.
Great gathering though.

This is the remnants of our Vancouver Island crowd when we had about 26 for our Christmas Eve party. Here's 2007.

A Surprise in Laughlin, Nevada

On the way we stopped in Bullhead City and had a great visit with Sandy and Michel friends from DHSprings since 2005. We also went on the Panama Canal with them an Rich and Tina in 2010.

An extra little trip and driving up River Road is always an experience, just like a roller coaster, that's 3 dips in the road ahead.

We had arranged to join Jan, surprising Hilda on their vacation and did we ever! When they got in, we celebrated with wine and appies in our room.

We started Sunday with a Champagne Brunch at the Riverside and while the girls walked home along the RiverWalk, Ron and I did a little gambling. Then there was pool time in the 86 degree sunshine.
We stayed at the Golden Nugget and I would highly recommend it. The food at the Claimjumper, including my Chicken Pot Pie was incredible. It must have been 5" across and 7" high. The restaurant was just behind this beautiful garden and waterfall.

We joined the Caret Club, got a little free slot play and had a blast. We celebrated Ron's birthday with another great dinner at the Steakhouse, then the crib board came out and the Bachelor TV show had to be watched. A great time together with 2 very good friend
Time  to leave. It seems the road goes straight as far as the eye can see.
There are always interesting things to see on a road trip. Someone hung a pair of sneakers on a fence on a road trip and now it has just grown with faces and stretches 100' down the fence line on the left.
We stopped at the Chiraco Summit where the General Patton Museum is and ate lunch at the  Cafe, started by this family in 1923 without having electricity and the original Post Office was placed here.

Catalina's RV Casuals Fashion Show

This is something I've been doing here for many years and we have so much fun. When you first look at 10 racks of clothes crowded together, must be 500+ items, it just looks like a flea market but when you start picking matching items that you like, it all comes together. We change in the kitchen out back with out 'helpers' tucking in the labels etc making sure we are 'runway ready'.
We are moving quickly as we then we work our way up to the stage, in a certain order where Sue, our organizer reads our comments she has had us submit to her.
I loved the final question Sue had us do, which was 'Give us something that inspires you'.
  Mine was
                    Yesterday is history.
                    Tomorrow is a mystery.
Today is a Gift, that's why it is called 'The Present'.
