Going Away Party

We had a going away party for Clint and Nadine. They've bought a home in Casa Grande and wont be full time RVing after 12 years.
You'll notice we're inside. Once the sun goes down behind the mountain, it gets pretty chilly for outside entertaining.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all. We've been so busy having fun. Barry and Joan came for a prime rib on the Ronco Sunday. Yummy! and they go home Wed. Joni and I went shopping Mon and rushed home when Phil was stung by about 60 bees as they were removing a nest next door. They spent the rest of the day in Emerg flushing him out. Off to the VFW with the Desert Crest crowd Wed - fun.
We celebrated American Thanksgiving at Don and Lila's with the group and their daughter Diana and Dan. Enjoyed their company all usual. Someone had given Don a gorilla mask that was very lifelike.

The Fashion Show

We modeled in the fashion show today and had a lot of fun. Suzanne laughs and says, yes, my mother, the swim suit model. I admit, it's not like the Sports Illustrated version. Old friends from White Rock joined us and the boys played mini golf.

Out to Cabazan

We've been so busy with activities and friends and are loving it. Joni, Claudette and I went 'garage sale ing' Sat at Caliente Springs and the St Elizabeth's Catholic Church. We love the thrill of the hunt and all got a new shirt or something for 50 cents. There's lots of boccie and pool tournaments and swim time too. Here's the view going out I 10 with windmills in the distance.

Remembrance Day

I watched the ceremonies in our countrie's Capital, Ottawa, Ontario, this morning at the War Memorial. It was very interesting for me as we'd spent 2 weeks there this summer and I'd been to all the places. It was very moving, particularly now that we're involved in Afghanistan. The TV coverage showed all the men and women we'd lost since last Nov. 11. This day isn't honored that much here in the US but we drove past a school where there was a Healing Field. It was honoring all the fallen heroes from Iraq and Afghanistan with a flag and I heard there were 5000.

Desert Pools

I can't believe it's been a week and we're over at Desert Pools now. There's an amazing jig saw puzzle on the go. It has no borders and there are 5 extra pieces so it's quite a challenge! We had a roadrunner stroll by today when we were sitting outside.
Chuck was offering us watermelon that he grew at his place in Utah. It was very good.

Olive Garden

We met Peter, Debbie, Joan and Barry at the Olive Garden for lunch. They offer a soup and salad lunch. There was 3 soups - minestrone, chicken gnocchi and the winner - potato Tuscany, simply delicious.
enjoyed by all.

Back to our winter schedule

Here're the guys waiting to play horseshoes. We're enjoying the pool and golf tournaments, Ron plays crib Friday nights and I love having the swimming pool. It's been so warm, one of the cactus is blooming. You have to enjoy fast as the bloom is gone the next day.

Off to see Joan and Barry

Joan and Barry are down at Outdoor Resort so we went to visit. It's a beautiful park with golf course and ponds but their security is so fierce it takes us 20 minutes to get through the gate.
Had a great time.
