Happy New Year 2007

We welcomed the new year with Sharon and Mike from Oregon and
Cj and Joan. We played pegs and jokers and Wizard at Cj and Joan's cabin and nibbled on appies and cheesecake.

Christmas 2006

We had a lovely Christmas with Joan and CJ from our home Friday night pool group, who are here for 2 weeks, Glen from Hemet, Ron's crib buddy from home and Mike ( Sharon flew home for holidays with the grandkids). We are having lovely weather - image sunning by the pool and swimming before you cook your turkey dinner!

George's Deli

Our friends Joan and Cj arrived Dec. 22 for 2 weeks. They run our Friday night pool league at the Elks back home in White Rock.
Our usual Christmas Eve tradition is to have lovely cold cuts, breads, cheeses and liver pate. On the 23rd, we went off to George's Deli in Cala Mesa, a small town, about 45 minutes east. We enjoyed a great German hot deli lunch and then bought all our goodies.

Happy Hour in the sunshine

There were 14 of us today so we decided on a no host day and we'd meet in the sunshine in the vacant spot across from us in Desert Pools. Everyone brought longs pants and a jacket because when the sun goes down behind Mount San Jacinto, it gets cool in the desert. This is the mountain that the Palm Springs Aerial Tram is on and you can go up 8,516 ft. to the top and hike on the trials, in the snow, dine and enjoy the view down over the Coachella Valley, all the way to the Salton Sea, about 80 miles away.
Needless to say, our visiting was fun and a good time was had by all.

Festival of Lights

Sharon, Mike, Ron and I met Myrna and Roger downtown Palm Springs for the Festival of Lights, which is the night the beginning of the Christmas Season is welcomed with a lighted parade. We had a fabulous dinner at Pepper's Thai Restaurant, seated on the sidewalk with a front row view. The parade was great with marching bands, horses, vehicles, floats, all lighted to the full. Many attended and it took over an hour to get out of town and back to the RV Park.
